Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled Value Engineering Specialist to join the Technical Department on a part-time remote basis. The role focuses on improving project efficiency through functional and cost analysis, and delivering innovative engineering solutions that maximize value while maintaining quality and performance standards.
The Value Engineering Specialist plays a key role in supporting technical decision-making, cost optimization, and enhancing overall project performance across different project stages.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Value Analysis:
- Apply Value Engineering methodologies to analyze project functions, systems, and costs.
- Identify opportunities to reduce costs while maintaining or improving quality and performance.
- Prepare detailed Value Engineering studies and recommendations.
2. Cost Optimization:
- Review designs, drawings, and specifications to identify cost-effective alternatives.
- Propose innovative engineering solutions that balance cost, quality, and efficiency.
- Support estimation and pricing teams in improving cost efficiency.
3. Technical Coordination:
- Collaborate with design, engineering, procurement, and project teams.
- Participate in Value Engineering workshops and coordination meetings.
- Ensure alignment of proposed solutions with project requirements and standards.
4. Reporting & Documentation:
- Prepare analytical reports on Value Engineering findings and outcomes.
- Document alternative solutions, assumptions, and technical justifications.
- Present recommendations to management or clients when required.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Achieved cost savings and value improvement across projects.
- Number of Value Engineering studies completed.
- Acceptance rate of proposed solutions.
- Timely delivery of studies and reports.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Civil, Architectural, or related field).
- 3–7 years of experience in Value Engineering, cost engineering, or design.
- Strong knowledge of Value Engineering methodologies.
- SAVE certification or equivalent is a plus.
- Strong command of English (written and spoken).
