Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly experienced Senior Contracts Engineer to lead contract administration and claims management across engineering projects. The role is responsible for ensuring contractual compliance, minimizing risks, and supporting strong commercial and contractual project outcomes.
The ideal candidate will play a key leadership role in enhancing contract performance, supporting decision-making, and ensuring effective project delivery from a contractual perspective.
Key Responsibilities:
Contract Management:
- Prepare, review, and negotiate complex engineering contracts.
- Ensure full compliance with contractual, technical, and legal requirements.
- Preparing, issuing, and tracking contractual letters, notices in accordance with the contract’s time‑bar provisions.
Claims & Dispute Management:
- Manage Extension of Time (EOT), variation, and financial claims.
- Analyze and resolve contractual disputes and support arbitration processes when required.
Advisory & Compliance:
- Provide expert contractual and technical advice to project teams and management.
- Assess contractual risks and support informed decision-making.
Stakeholder Management & Leadership:
- Coordinate with clients, contractors, and consultants.
- Supervise and mentor Contracts Engineers and support their professional development.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Adherence to contractual timelines and milestones.
- Reduction of contractual disputes and financial risks.
- Improvement in claims outcomes and negotiation efficiency.
Reporting Line: chief coordination officer
- Reports to Head of Department
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- 7+ years of experience in contract management within engineering/construction projects.
- Strong knowledge of FIDIC contracts and international standards.
- Proven experience in claims management and dispute resolution.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English.
- Strong negotiation, analytical, and leadership skills.
- Professional certifications in contracts or construction law are an advantage.
