Value International Group is seeking a meticulous and experienced Claim Engineer to manage and
resolve contractual claims and disputes for engineering and construction projects. This role involves
analyzing claims, preparing documentation, and providing expert advice to ensure compliance with
contractual terms and regulations.
Key Responsibilities:
- Claims Preparation and Evaluation:
- Analyze project records to identify potential claims and assess their validity.
- Prepare detailed claim submissions, including delay analysis, cost impact assessments, and supporting documentation.
- Contract Analysis:
- Review and interpret contract documents to understand obligations, entitlements, and potential risks.
- Ensure compliance with contractual terms and conditions throughout the claims process.
- Delay Analysis:
- Conduct comprehensive delay analysis using industry-standard techniques.
- Provide recommendations for extensions of time (EOT) and compensation claims.
- Dispute Resolution Support:
- Assist in resolving disputes through negotiation, mediation, or arbitration.
- Provide technical and contractual advice to legal teams and project stakeholders.
- Documentation and Reporting:
- Maintain accurate and comprehensive records of all claims and correspondence.
- Prepare regular reports for senior management on claims status and progress.
- Risk Management:
- Identify and mitigate potential risks related to claims and contractual obligations.
- Develop strategies to minimize disputes and ensure smooth project execution.
- Coordination with Stakeholders:
- Liaise with project managers, contractors, and clients to gather and analyze relevant information.
- Communicate effectively to resolve issues and build strong working relationships.
- Cost and Impact Analysis:
- Evaluate the financial impact of claims on project budgets.
- Provide recommendations to optimize cost recovery and minimize losses.
- Legal and Regulatory Compliance:
- Stay updated on legal and regulatory requirements affecting construction claims.
- Ensure all claims are prepared and presented in accordance with applicable laws.
- Training and Mentorship:
- Provide guidance and training to junior engineers on claims management and contractual best practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- A minimum of 5 years of experience in claims management within the engineering or construction industry.
- Strong knowledge of FIDIC contracts and other standard forms of contracts.
- Proficiency in delay analysis tools and software (e.g., Primavera P6).
- Exceptional analytical, negotiation, and communication skills.
- Ability to handle multiple claims and prioritize tasks effectively.
