Job Summary:
We are seeking a highly skilled Pricing Engineer to join the Projects Department. The role is responsible for developing accurate pricing models, preparing cost estimates, and supporting tendering and bidding activities to ensure competitive, realistic, and profitable pricing for engineering projects.
The Pricing Engineer plays a key role in cost optimization, financial planning, and supporting strategic decision-making across engineering and construction projects.
Key Responsibilities:
Pricing & Cost Estimation:
- Develop detailed pricing models and prepare cost estimates for engineering and construction projects
- Analyze drawings, specifications, and tender documents.
- Prepare Bills of Quantities (BOQs) and structured pricing models.
Tendering Support:
- Lead the preparation of financial proposals and support technical proposals
- Ensure pricing is competitive while maintaining project profitability.
Cost Analysis & Optimization:
- Evaluate project costs and identify pricing risks, gaps, and potential cost deviations.
- Propose value engineering and cost optimization solutions.
Technical Coordination:
- Coordinate closely with engineering, procurement, and project teams
- Align the technical scope with pricing assumptions.
Reporting & Documentation:
- Prepare detailed pricing reports, cost breakdowns, and analytical summaries.
- Maintain accurate records of pricing assumptions, models, and calculations.
Key Performance Indicators (KPIs):
- Accuracy of pricing and cost estimates.
- Competitiveness of bids and tenders.
- Improvement in project profitability.
- Reduction of pricing risks and cost deviations.
Reporting Line:
Reports to: Chief Coordination Officer
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum 5 years of experience in pricing, estimation, or cost engineering.
- Strong knowledge of construction methods, materials, and market pricing.
- Experience in BOQ preparation and tendering processes.
- Proficiency in Excel and estimation/pricing tools.
- Strong analytical and numerical skills.
- Excellent command of written and spoken English.
- Strong communication and teamwork skills.
